Julius Jones

According to Adam Schefter, NFL Network analyst, the Seahawks are interested in Julius Jones. He also stated that Tennessee is also interested in Julius Jones. I never thought of Julius Jones as an top tier running back. Adam also stated that Shaun's future with the Seahawks is in serious question. He doubts that Shaun will be here for the 2008 season.

He's not a top tier running back. I cant remember which year it was, if it was his first or second, but before he hurt his ankle, he had a really good year. After that he just never got it back. Unless he never had it and it was just a fluke the first time.

I agree, I don't think the Seahawks need him but the Bears not on the other hand need him big time.

Maybe not top tier...but certainly a bit better than Duckett...who they signed for five years.

This makes a lot more sense to me than the Duckett signing. Jones isn't quite as good as Alexander was in his prime, but he's servicable and can definitely be a 1,000 - 1,200 yard back for Seattle. I would also assume if they dump Alexander, they'll snag someone early on in the draft too, and start grooming a long-term replacement. I think it'd be a nice pickup for the Hawks.

Re: Julius Jones

He isn't a bad back. It just seems to me that he doesn't play hard. Or I should say, doesn't seem to play/run as hard as I think he should.

Maybe us Dallas fans are unfairly judging him by the Barber scale of effort and heart, but it just doesn't seem like he picks the team up when he is in there. The whole offense seems to lose a step when Jones is in there.

That's an intangible that seems hard to ignore. I expected bigger things from Jones, and would have an issue with my team giving him the kind of money he is going to demand.

Jones starts out great. But he always has trouble in the 2nd half.

There is no way Jones can carry the load alone so maybe they can.
Sort of. Duckett is no Barber.
