Seahawks down play rumor Alexander gone

Seahawks are down playing the rumor that Shaun Alexander may be gone. They refuse to even respond to the rumor by Profootballtalk.
It is suspected, though, that they will use a high draft pick on a RB and cut Alexander in the summer.

Fantasy Football Breaking News - Rotoworld.com
I think Alexander will be gone at some time before the season starts.

Re: Seahawks down play rumor Alexander gone

Hes not living up to his contract deal and he is just taking up space in my mind. Let him go, he just stopped trying after he got that contract.

This is completely unofficial, and you can take it for a grain of salt (or less) if you want....but here is my list of running backs in the NFL, right now, who can duplicate or exceed Shaun's accomplishments from 2007. This is totally IMO, and it pretty much boils down to the RBs in the league right now that could gain over 4.0 YPC behind our o-line (which is inconsistent, but not horrible):

LaDanian Tomlinson
Adrian Peterson
Marion Barber
Larry Johnson (when healthy)
Joseph Addai
Steven Jackson
Michael Turner
Fred Taylor
Willis McGahee
Brian Westbrook
Willie Parker (Stealer's o-line not too good this season, either)
Ryan Grant
Brandon Jacobs
Deuce McAllister (when healthy)
Jamal Lewis (maybe not after this season, due to wear and tear)
Ronnie Brown (when healthy)
Clinton Portis
Frank Gore
Laurence Maroney
Earnest Graham
Travis Henry
LenDale White
Chester Taylor
Ahmad Bradshaw

Kind of sounds like you are saying anybody BUT Alexander.
I still dont think you are fair about Alexander. I have heard you say this before that he quit after he got the big contract. But he was hurt, bad ,all year.
