Superbowl Question

Will seattle ( Qwest Field ) ever host a Superbowl????

I looked as far as 2011 and seattle is nowhere to be seen.

What does it take to have a stadium host a superbowl?

And i know it's not like the MLB where each year they host the All-star game in an opposing leagues stadium. I.E. AL one year and NL the next and back and forth.

Re: Superbowl Question

hey dude, welcome to the forum

im sorry, but i dont ever see it happening

for one thing, lately it seems to be a reward for teams getting new stadiums .... but its more then that ...... the cities have to be fan friendly in the winter and i dont think Seattle really is

Re: Superbowl Question

Qwest Field has the optional roof I believe so it's not like with NY where it's guaranteed never to hose a Super Bowl.

But what Simon brought up, usually the NFL likes to pick cities (Jacksonville...how'd they get one? lol) that is a hub for social gatherings and what not. With the first week of February, is that Seattle? Perhaps, but more than likely not.

Re: Superbowl Question

Seattle's stadium does not have a roof that covers the field. Most of the fans are covered but not even all of them. There is no way to heat the stadium to keep it warm and there is always the likelihood of freezing rain or snow in Seattle during February. I lived there for 5 years, Nov-Feb are brutal months to be in Seattle.
