Rocky and Warrick sign

So far today the Seahawks have signed Rocky Bernard to a 3 year, $13 million dollar deal including a $5.4 million dollar bonus and Warrick to a 1 year, $1 million dollar deal.

Both of these signing are very solid. Neither of those contracts is overpriced nor do they involve too much of a cap hit. Both players are good players who will contribute to the team and provide some continuity from last year. With Rocky sticking around that will give the D-line some stability and my belief that if a group of players (mainly O-line or D-line) stick together for an extended period of time they become much stronger than their individual talents would dictate.

Now if they can add Julian Peterson (who is scheduled to visit) you have the makings of a very, very good front 7.

Re: Rocky and Warrick sign

That's definitely good news to my ears. But, I'm wondering what they'll do to help that offensive line. I don't think there is anyway that the Hawks will match the Vikings offer to Hutchinson. It's too long of a contract to hope that he doesn't get hurt.

I can't see them matching the money either. But, the NFL has some loop holes and you can structure contracts with signing bonuses and incentives to help lure someone away.

It'll be interesting to see.

Not sure they have to do much if Hutch goes. Womack can step right in and Spencer is a beast that they could switch to guard if they need. Also I could see them drafting Max Jean-Gilles from Georgia with either the first round pick or they could trade up (or down) and take him somewhere at the top of the 2nd round.

At that kind of money, I think you've got to let Hutch go and take your chances with the Pork Chop.
