SeaHawks Cut Andre Dyson, Jamie Sharper

Seattle released cornerback Andre Dyson and linebacker Jamie Sharper a couple of days ago. They now find themselves $13 million under the cap, with Shawn Alexander, wide receiver Joe Jurevicius, Pro Bowl fullback Mack Strong or sack leader Rocky Bernard, all sitting as potential free agents. Can they re-sign all of them and keep the core of their NFC Championship team together?

Re: SeaHawks Cut Andre Dyson, Jamie Sharper

Good!

As a Seahawks fan, it's nice knowing that the Seahawks' organization is willing to take the steps it needs toward resigning key players, while not demolishing the team. Andre Dyson and Jamie Sharper barely played this year and the 'Hawks made it to the Super Bowl. It seems the Seahawks organization is making the right moves for once.

Joe Jurevicius stepped up big when Darrell Jackson went down early in the season, catching key passes for first downs as well as hauling in a few tough touchdown passes. He showed that he makes a great second-string wideout, or temporary first-stringer.

As for Mack Strong, well, he's a franchise player and the BEST FB in the league. That's said with a little bias.

But, the Seahawks are releasing players who didn't help the team that much last year and doing what they need to do to keep Alexander, who wants to stay. Oh it's nice to see this after all the painful years of being a Seahawks fan.
