Shaun Alexander Out Indefinitely Says ESPN

ESPN.com - NFL - Seahawks' Alexander out indefinitely with foot fracture

ESPN said x-rays revealed a small crack in Alexander's foot and it's unknown how much time he will miss. Anywhere from a week to over a month's time according to the article.

I doubt this has any large affect on the Seahawks as they're now 3-0 and no team in their division will likely challenge them.

Re: Shaun Alexander Out Indefinitely Says ESPN

While it is never good to lose the MVP for any lenght of time I think the Seahawks will be OK. Shaun's backup is Maurice Morris and he is more than capable of filling in for a game or so. The game this week against the Bears will be a tough one no matter who is in at RB and then the Hawks have a bye week so hopefully that will be long enough for Shaun's foot to heal.

Also with the addition of Branch the Seahawks now have a very strong 4 WR package. Yesterday against the Giants there were usually 2 receivers who were WIDE open. Obviously now that coaches have some game film to help them prepare for the 4 WR sets they probably won't be as open but with Jackson, Burleson, Branch, and Engram they have a lot of very solid receivers to account for. The 4 receiver sets will also open up some running lanes as well.

I can see Holmgren game planning a lot of short drops and quick throws to counteract the loss of Alexander and the good pass rush of the Bears next week. Should be fun to watch.
