Re: Rafael Soriano hit in head by line drive

Anyone else see Vlad Guererro hit that line drive off Rafael Soriano's head? Man, did that look nasty. The Seattle pitcher is said to be okay, though, though he was kept in a hospital overnight for observation and a CT scan. Man, how does a pitcher ever go back out there and do his job again after something like this?

He is in the running for AL Comeback Player of the Year besides, after having Tommy John surgery and missing most of the last two seasons.

I didn't see it but this guy has great stuff but is always hurt. Seems like he can't get out of his own way.

Re: Rafael Soriano hit in head by line drive

I remember reading a scouting report about this kid a couple of years back. He had the potential and was supposably one of the best pitchers of the future. From what I have seen, he looks fairly decent and I hope he can follow along with his career when he returns.

Best of luck to Soriano's health.

Re: Soriano condition update

Well, good news - Soriano's reportedly in stable condition now, and he may be released shortly. According to what Mariners team physician Dr. Edward Khalfayan says in this article, Soriano "has a closed head injury and a concussion." Kind of good news, eh? Could've been a lot worse.

Re: Soriano condition update

What happened to the pitcher who got beamed on the Red Sox? I forgot who it was, but I think it was Wakefield.

MJH Mark: I don't think it was Wakefield but I'm not sure.
