The Seattle Mariners are going through some tough times, both on the field and in the stands.
According to the Associated Press, "Tuesday’s 10-1 loss to the Texas Rangers was watched by a crowd of 15,818. That’s the smallest crowd in Safeco history, besting the 15,989 that came on May 2, 2007, to watch the White Sox... About half the crowd was gone by the sixth inning, although the game was over before that, Texas scoring all of its runs in the first three innings... Already seven of the 10 smallest crowds in Safeco Field history have come this year. And with the weather chilly—it was 52 degrees at first pitch Tuesday—and the Mariners tied for the worst record in the American League (14-20), it’s hard to see fan enthusiasm getting fired up anytime soon."
