Are the Mariners contenders?

The Seattle Mariners are 10-10 overall, and 7-4 against the AL West, and they've been doing it without starter Erik Bedard and closer J.J. Putz. Once those guys get healthy, do you think this team will be a legitimate contender for the division title? Or is this all smoke and mirrors?

Re: Are the Mariners contenders?

i believe they are contenders. it seems as though they've weathered the storm with injuries pretty well so far. when bedard gets back they'll have a nice one-two punch at the top of the pitching rotation. their hitting is very well too. sexson's hot at the plate with five home run's already and is it just me or does vidro get on base almost every time he is up to bat. and they also have beltre and a guy by the name of ichiro. yes the mariners are contenders and it is going to be a mad dash at the end of the season between them and the angels for the division.
