The Mariners have let Larry Bowa know that they are interested in bringing him aboard. The M's would bring him in to be 3rd base coach and return to the Mariners, a team he was a coach for in the mid 1990s.

Bowa however has said he doesn't know if he will take the job, waiting on how the Yankee situation shakes out to see if he can stay.

I'd like to see Bowa get another chance, but I'm not sure if Seattle is it. I confess to not knowing a lot about the team!

If he manages again, I want him to be successful. I liked him in Philly, both as a player and manager.

It doesn't look like he'll be managing anytime soon, it's either 3rd base coach for the Mariners or whether he can stay on the staff of the new Yankee manager.

Bowa and Piniella are the only 2 guys even remotely close to having the same temperment as Billy Martin that are around today. Everyone else is a namby-pampy, take-the-heat for the player's mistakes type of manager.

And when was the last time Bowa or Piniella won a World Series...as manager?
