Bonds to Seattle Mariners?

Rumors have been floating about that Barry Bonds may play for the Seattle Mariners in 2008.

However, according to the Yahoo! Sports rumor page, "The Seattle Mariners are being frequently listed as a possible landing spot for Barry Bonds, who will not be re-signed by the San Francisco Giants and would logically fit best on an American League team as a designated hitter... Put that idea to rest. Those in a position to know indicate strongly that the Mariners will not make a bid for the home-run king, who turns 44 next July."

I read somewhere that Beane doesn't want him. Seattle might make some sense.

What are the chances that nobody wants to pay for a 44 year old with all the baggage that comes with him. He will not play everyday anyway even if he is only a DH.
