Ichiro Suzuki of the Seattle Mariners has hit safely in 24 straight games. He went 3-for-5 in the Mariners win over Texas yesterday. "He's a special player. I don't think he should surprise any of us," Seattle manager Mike Hargrove told reporters after the game. "I'll tell you what, when you get up in the 20s in a hitting streak, you start thinking about it. But Ichiro is Ichiro. He keeps going about his business the same way." Can he seriously challenge Joe D's all-time record streak?

Ichiro...Youkilis is having a career year...but Ichiro is more steady...

ichrio because he has more speed and more opions he can bunt get infeild hits youklis cant do those things constintly but Ichro's at 24 games in youklis 23

I think DiMaggio's record is another of those untouchables. Ichiro is one of the hitters that could make a run, but I don't see anybody breaking that record.

Youkilis is at 23 right now. I know that isn't even halfway but you have to start at number one and work your way up.

Robin Ventura had 58 in college. I do not see what the big deal about 56 is. Totally overrated if you ask me (okay, nobody asked me, I will leave now).

58 is great, but it was in college. He was not facing the best just about every night as he would in the big leagues.
