| Re: Ichiro hitting streak Well, it we're talking college, Ventura's 58 is nice but it ain't the record. According to Baseball America, back in 2003, "Division III outfielder Damian Costantino broke the NCAA record of 58 consecutive games with a hit during the third game of Salve Regina University's spring trip to Florida. It eventually ended at 60 games... Costantino, a 24-year-old junior at the Newport, R.I., college, singled against Mount Union (Ohio) to break the record."

Well Eric Youngblood of the Florida Penal League got 66 last year, Of course it is said he threaten to have a "hit out on pitchers that would not fall in line with the record attempt." Division III...cool....it seems that under certain conditions 50-60 game streaks are possible. |

The man had over 290 homers, +1100 RBI's...and six gold gloves...that's more than a decent career my friend. |

| Re: Ichiro hitting streak If Ichiro is facing Boston anytime soon, his streak will end. As a Yankees fan, when I need him to get a hit, he never does. He looked totally overmatched in the games against the Red Sox earlier this year. He struck out three times in one, or more than he normally does in a month.
