The tenor of Ichiro's comments, however, suggests he continues to take a wait-and-see approach over how long the Mariners contend. Seattle would be foolish to trade him...he has a good Pacific rim following...which leads to good merchandising opportunities...though he would make a good replacement for Damon in Boston.

depends on what Seattle would want

Boston has a boat-load of talented pitching and good depth at on field positions

Alex Cora ... Willy Mo Pena ... Brendan Donnelly ... Romero ... Pinero now i dont know who they would be willing to give up but these are all quality players ....... we also have John Lester as a starting pitcher hell he might be fair as even trade for Ichiro ..... Lester is only 23 and has a great arm

Has Pena proven anything?

Donnelly is an old reliever and Romero/Pinero haven't become consistant quality pitchers. Wasn't Romero suspended for an illegal/banned substance?

With Lester, the kid is coming off such a disease, does anyone know how he'll be coming off it?

For their top player, Seattle will want some A+ quality prospects IMO.

if Lester comes back to form ...... yes that may be a big if .... he can become a #2 starter at least

on top of that Ichiro is unhappy and Seattle most likely wont be able to re-sign him
