Ichiro is in the final year of a four year, $44 million contract and could become a free agent following the World Series. Word is he's waiting on the Mariners to make an offer. They'd be more than foolish to let him go. Not only for his great play but what he brings the franchise in terms of marketability and cash flow from the far east. And besides, if they were thinking of not retaining him, they would almost have to trade him because they can't just let him walk.
