Re: Ichiro - MLB hits leader

So Ichiro finished the season with 224 hits and led the majors in this category for the third time in six years. Even more impressive, according to this article, is that "this season, he rebounded from a woeful April of batting .177 to do it, and finished with a .322 average." Suzuki is a heck of a contact hitter, maybe the best the game has ever seen. What do you think of his 2006 performance?

Re: Ichiro - MLB hits leader

His numbers are consistently decent every year even though I felt that he fell off-track earlier this year.

I cannot stand the way he bats, but he has become baseball's top contact hitter.

Well...besides "I told you all so!"

His numbers were just as good if not better...this guy was born to hit...and his Japan career should be taken into account as well...or at least he should not be penalize for it.

Re: Ichiro - MLB hits leader

As much as I cannot stand the way he bats, I had to ackowledge him in the poem I posted. It helped that his name began with I.

You know another guy who was born to hit? 7X Japanese All-Star, Kazuo Matsui.

Too much pressure...people wanted another Ichiro...he went to NY...a place that can even get to A-Rod...would have love to have seen Matsui break in a smaller market.
