SO winner gets Sharks over Wild

Curtis brown and Jeremy Roenick each had a goal and an assist. pavelski got the 3rd goal.
Veilleux and GaborikX2 were the Wild scorers.
in the shootout, Pavelski was successful for The Sharlks, then Burns for the Wild, then Roenick again.
4-3.
Bad news for the sharks: defenceman Kurtis Foster broke his leg in a crash into the boards Torrey Mitchell. he is to undergo surgery to stabilize a rod in his leg.
he is gone for the season (duh).

Re: SO winner gets Sharks over Wild

the reason for his break is something that Don Cherry speaks out against all the time - the race to get the puck for the icing call.
Guys ruin their season just to get to that puck. mitchell upset Foster's balance and Foster crashed into the boards and broke his leg - was it worth it?
No.
Cherry calls for the no more icing calls so guys won't race to the puck and end their season like this - I tend to agree.
from yahoo:
(Sharks coach Ron) Wilson, influential CBC commentator Don Cherry and other like-minded hockey people have lobbied for years to institute no-touch icing, the same rule used in international play and several minor leagues.

Re: SO winner gets Sharks over Wild

The one time he may have been right. I personally enjoyed his comment earlier in the year when he stated that Lecavlier was hands down the best player in the world right before he spiraled into a major goal drought. (5 in 24 games or something?) oh well, just like picking on cherry sometimes.

oh yeah, half the time he's spouting racial slurs and blowhardiness - but every now and then, he shows a spark of enlightenment.
