There was no reason for the mayor to apologize. The owner of the team, maybe. But the mayor? Who does the booing? A bunch of drunk nit wits so I think everyone should just ignore them. By even making it an issue, you're giving them the attention that they don't get from their wives at home that they are desperately looking for.

Re: Mayor apologizes for booing Thanks for all the interesting tidbits on the province of Alberta blueandwhite. We don't hear much of anything except in the States unless the president of Iran says it or George Bush says it. Is the premier kind of like the governor or something? And was this recently and is he still employed? Maybe that is how he got elected.

Re: Mayor apologizes for booing I don't know exactly how long he's been running that province without some research, but he's been there forever and they love him. Premier's are elected to head the provinces - I guess they are like your governors. He has been there a bit too long, though, because now that he's leaving, no one seems to be sad about it. But someone else will step in with equal parts ego and craziness, I am sure. And I think the maytor should totally have apologized, because they are called the San Jose Sharks and the booing was done by (supposedly) San jose residents.
