11 Gold Gloves, over 2,600 hits, almost 400 stolen bases. The best defensive SS of his era. His numbers are far superior to many SS already in the Hall. Easy choice for me, but who knows with the goofy voters?

I'd say yes, but then, I always think defensive prowess is underrated by the HOF voters. I danced a jig when the put Maz in.

I don't think Vizquel belongs in...though stats and glove wise he may be equal to Luis Apparicio...Louie for his part rated up there in the top 25 in MVP balloting often and was an all-star year in and year out...I think Vizquel is a tad under that.

It's not an easy call, but I think it's safe to say Vizquel is the best defensive baseman this side of Ozzie Smith, so I think he does squeak his way in.
