How intense is the rivalry between the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland Athetics?
Sacbee.com sportswriter Paul Gutierrez calls it a case of "a sibling rivalry that began 40 years ago, an enmity that only intensified with the introduction of interleague play in 1997... Through the first eight seasons of interleague play, the series was split down the middle, with each team winning 22 times. A 12-6 Oakland run since 2005, though, has given the A's bragging rights." The Giants, though, have the edge in other areas, says Gutierrez, including a better ballpark and higher season ticket sales and attendance numbers. So where does this rivalry rank among the best in baseball?
