| Bonds gets number 715 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- No. 715 played out exactly the way Barry Bonds wanted -- he hit it at home, in front of the fans who love him. It just took him a little longer than he hoped it would. The San Francisco slugger moved past Babe Ruth on the career home run list with a mammoth shot Sunday, and now stands behind just one person. Hank Aaron owns baseball's most revered record with 755 homers. And now the debate begins: Will Bonds stick around long enough to break it? Bonds' latest milestone -- a mightier homer than No. 714 -- was a 445-foot, two-run shot to center before a sellout crowd. The homer came on the last day before the Giants begin a road trip to Florida and New York. He homered off Byung-Hyun Kim in the fourth inning during a 6-3 loss to the Colorado Rockies. The ball glanced off a fan's hands about 15 rows up and then dropped onto an elevated platform beyond the fence. There you go...Kim is now the answer to a trivia question...I still remember seeing (on TV) Al Downing give up number 715 to Hammer Hank Aaron... |

| Re: Bonds gets number 715 ok, i wont even try and hide the fact that i cant stand Bonds steroids aside, i desperately want them to get to the bottom of the other drugs he may have taken the fertility drugs the diabetes drugs the doctor that gave him these needs to have his lisence taken away and Bonds needs to go to jail i hope when the investigation is done Bonds is wiped from the record books atleast below 600 Home Runs

If you want Bonds neck, you might as well asked for Selig as well..."For gross neglect during his watch." |

| Re: Bonds gets number 715 With Bonds hitting number 715, my question is this. And I am completely serious here. Which ball is worth more? Is the ball that tied Babe's record worth less, more or just as much as Bonds' 715 ball. And from hearing about the shot I doubt anyone got that ball. Did it end up in the lake out there in RF? |

| Re: Bonds gets number 715 Definitely the record-breaking ball is worth more than the record-tying ball. But overall, I would rather own Barry Bond's first homerun ball! Just think about how old it must be. |

| Re: Bonds gets number 715 I see that ball worth about $3 at the local sporting goods store. Only an idiot would pay the type of money some of these balls have sold for. In my opinion, the ball belongs in the hall of fame next to the plaque they will have for Barry Bonds. |
