You were right! . No. 2. Was Michael Vick's dogfighting scandal, No. 3 The Mitchell Report No.4 Florida winning both basketball and football National titles and No. 5 The Tim Donaghy scandal. Did ESPN Mag get it right?

Yeah, that sounds right to me. With Bonds, it was essentially two stories in one - the pursuit of the record and the debate about whether or not he used steroids/it was a tainted mark. That allows it to slide back the Vick story into the #1 slot, although those were far and away the two most talked about stories of the year.

Naw, come on...scandals are stories...but I would not consider them "great sports stories"...unless you are running a tabloid

The only scandel in the top 5 was Florida winning in both sports. Bad year in sports
