Breaking news, Barry Bonds has been indicted by the federal government on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice.

The charge of perjury stems from when he told a federal grand jury that he unknowingly took steroids from friend/trainer Greg Anderson and also denied Anderson injected Bonds with steroids.

We already know when he was using. It's documented and published information. There's just no real "proof", ie. testing work.

I'm not keen on the whole * usage. Like the old argument goes, compared to Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron played more games and with less quality pitchers.

Of course Ruth never played in the majors with any of the negro leaguers so there's another *.

That's the biggest question. If Anderson decided enough was enough (how long has he sat in the jail cell keeping his mouth shut?) and took the government up on their offer.

Everything else has to be considered circumstantial (like the talk from Bonds' mistress) unless there is clear documentation that Barry Bonds ordered steroids. Even then, I think they would have a hard time linking something like that to him actually taking them and then lying about it.

Greg Anderson is the key IMO.
