The Mets walked Bonds last night in the first inning and then Glavine gave up a three run home run to Alou. They walked him later in the same game. Wouldn't you at least make him prove he is sound enough to beat you before showing him the same respect that he has gotten in the past?

Very good point Legend. I agree.

But the pitchers don't know what he can do if they pitch it to him. The rest of his career is in question marks. Will he be good, or will he bad? The pitchers are taking the safe route by walking Barry Bonds.

It is the managers that are telling pitchers to walk Bonds. Make him show the proof that he can still dominate the game.

You guys hear the consipiracy theories? "Walk him so he don't pass the Babe..." Not sure I buy into all that, but I guess the theory has been tossed around and more and more people seem to be convinced of its veracity.
