I think Tampa Bay, he'll go there for one season and try to bring the Rays an 81-81 season to show he's still got worth.

Then he'll go to the Yanks.

But I voted for the Padres.

I voted that he'll retire. I'm really not sure why, but I'm don't think he'll be willing to come back for a deal like Sosa got this year, and I'm guessing that's what he'll wind up getting offered. Nobody's going to want to invest a ton of money in a guy this age who really can't field any more.

I think you'll end up eating those words. The AL is full of DH's in that exact same position. The ability to have a batter who can hit and not have to play in the field is a major draw for some of the AL team owners. My initial guess is he'll end up in the AL. Then we'll see how good his bat is at this age. He also needs to get some extra dingers to keep A-Rod off his back for a few more years.

Quite possibly. I keep going back and forth on it. On the way hand, common sense says there's no way you offer big bucks to an aging slugger who can't field. On the other hand, this is baseball. At the very least a struggling, down and out team would bring him in to try and bolster attendance and/or fan interest, I guess.

That statement is not silly at all. He will put fannies in the seats and put some life into that depressing place.

Wow......well I wouldn't pay $25 to see Barry at the plate.....in fact I don't want to pay $25 to watch baseball period.......cept if the Jays make the playoffs.
