The Giants 2007 opening day payroll was $90.2 million. They are on pace to finish last in the National League.

Barry Bonds' 2007 salary is $15.8 million. That means Bonds is roughly 17% of the entire team's payroll.

There is conflicting reports as to whether the Giants will have the right to void the deal if Bonds is indicted. His agent says no.

Assuming he is not, should the Giants bring Bonds back?

Yes, I'm talking about next year, the 2008 season. Bonds will be a free-agent after this year.

i could see him being a DH ...... he is still probably a top 25 power hitter and with the walks his OBP must be good

Look, I know he wants to stay in the Bay Area. But the Giants need that money to try and field a winning team. Cold blooded or not, they have to let him walk. They'll never win as long as he's eating up that much payroll.

No they should not he won't be there next year. But i think Peter McGowan wanted him gone last year but followed the money realizing that the money he would pay Barry would be less than he would make off him. There is no chance Barry draws to Giants next year. He is gone he will sign with the Angles
