Yeah, sure, everyone accepts this, but it doesn't really matter, does it? Our boy Billy Clinton got busted for perjury, was impeached, was embarassed nationally (although god only knows if he felt that way), was FOUND GUILTY and got...well, who remembers? I do. He was suspended from practicing law for six months. Keanu: "Whoa."
Though it's no surprise that Clinton got off (ha ha), Bonds is a far less likable character. Federal probe or no, it doesn't matter. (What happened to McGwire? Or Clarence Thomas for that matter?) All that does matter is how much b.s. Bud Selig is willing to deal with. I say a lot.
No doubt Bonds will be his ordinary charming self, be found guilty, get a slap on the wrist, miss maybe a doubleheader against the Diamondbacks, break Ruth's record, and all will be forgiven.
He could be elected President.
