Tonight Barry Bonds has tied Hank Aaron for the all-time home run lead with 755 home runs. Is the a moment to celebrate, or a moment to mourn? Personally, I think it is handing the torch from one era to the next. Just like Babe Ruth passed the torch to Aaron, the beginning of baseball to the modern era ..... now Hank pases the torch to Barry, the modern era to the steroid era. I can only hope Alex Rodriguez gets the torch from Bonds as soon as possible. In something other then a Yankee uniform.

gotta give props though, its a large feat even with steroids..I dont think it will be too long though before hes eventually caught up to and passed..

Not a lot of Bonds lovers on the boards, apparently.

Well, the guys not one of my favorites, but until someone proves that he did do steroids, it'll be his record, asterisk free. There's no more concrete, irrefutable evidence that Bonds did steroids then there is Aaron or A-Rod did. Still, I imagine this reaction is probably representative of at least 80% of the baseball fans across the country.

Bonds is INNOCENT until PROVEN GUILTY. Until someone gives me legit proof that he has used steroids, which no one has as of yet, I will always consider him the legit holder. As Bonds said, some of you are letting a third party dictate your opinions about him. Get legit proof that he has used steroids before making these claims. If you can't give legit proof and facts, you have no right saying he uses steroids when you do not know if he has or not.

Maybe the proof comes with Bud Selig's prints and name all over it...so...you know...better to keep the whole thing legit.

I can't believe people can have a beef with Barry Bonds without having one with MLB who let it all happen since Sosa and Big Mac went at it (actually since before)...

What are we going to do, go back to 61* as the record?...Give me a break...Barry is king under the new rules...let him be.

The funny thing is the haters say he used steroids he cheated blah blah. no, steroids were legal when Bonds is speculated of using them. If you want to put a * on someone's name, put it under the Bud Selig era in baseball for allowing steroids for as long as he did.

Barry is a jerk with or without steroids. That is why I don't like him. Period. A jerk to his teammates, a jerk to the media, just a jerk.

Steroids or not, one big BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo to Barry. I really hope his record is passed soon by someone. He was/is a great player, but the way he handles everything just makes me ill.
