Well, it could be naturally-occurring acromegaly.

According to Medline Plus, "Acromegaly is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by the presence of too much growth hormone. It results in gradual enlargement of body tissues including the bones of the face, jaw, hands, feet, and skull... Acromegaly occurs in about 6 of every 100,000 adults. It is caused by abnormal production of growth hormone after normal growth of the skeleton and other organs is complete."

Assumptions are dangerous things. Just because it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck does not guarantee that it is in fact a duck.

But this duck is quacking pretty loud, and leaving feathers on the field. The book, plus the production after 40, and the other signs, like his large head and other phycsical signs, all point to the obvious.

You are right, it may not be, but other than catching him with the goods, I don't think it could look much worse.

Feathers aren't all a duck leaves on the field...

Personally, I think there's too much pointing towards steroid use... but I'll be the first to apologize if I'm wrong. I still think the guy's not very nice.

True, ducks do leave other gifts!

Hey, even without steroid one, the guy has still been a jerk as far as I can remember, and while I have no choice but to concede the record to him, he is not somebody I wll look back on and admire.

No, definitely not... and if I had kids I wouldn't want them to look up to him as a hero.

Then again, if I had kids I'd rather they look up to certain NASCAR drivers as heroes than other sports (note I say 'certain' drivers...).
