During batting practice Thursday, a fan with a booming voice sat in the front row of the loge seats at Dodger Stadium and verbally harassed Barry Bonds. "Hey, Barry, where's Greg Anderson?" the fan yelled. Bonds, who usually tunes out everyone and everything, turned to his left and softly said, "Your house." Anderson, Bonds's personal trainer, is in prison for refusing to speak to a federal grand jury that is investigating Bonds. "Hey, Barry, how much you paying him?" the fan shouted, intimating that Bonds is financing Anderson's decision to stay silent. The stadium was mostly empty, so the barbs could be heard by the batting cage. Omar Vizquel, Bonds's teammate, pointed the fan out to a security guard, but the guard told him the man was not using profanity so he could not stop him. An usher checked the man's ticket and made him switch to a different seat, but the relocation did not muzzle him. "Why did your head get so big?" the fan asked. "Why are you so skinny on your rookie card? I don't get it." As the fan was badgering Bonds about human growth hormone and "shooting up" steroids, Bonds had a powerful batting practice session and sent a series of balls flying over the fence. Bonds looked angry.
