Barry Bonds and the Giants begin a three game series in Los Angeles tomorrow evening. On ESPNews, Steve Phillips suggested the Giants sit Bonds for each game of the series in a precautionary measure. According to Phillips, there is no way to protect the player from a threat of violence (people running onto the field) and there will be loud booing and chants, etc. He also said the record should be broken in San Fran for the Giants fans.

What do you think the Giants should do? Sit him and wait or go into the belly of the beast and let Bonds try to tie and set the record in Los Angeles?

Hard to say. I would hope security at Dodger Stadium is beefed up in case Bonds plays, for one thing. It probably would be better done at home, but making that work could be immensely difficult as there's no guarantee he'd be able to hit the tying and surpassing home runs on cue like that. Whatever the case, this should be Barry's call to make.
