| Bonds 756th HR ball expected to sell for half? The baseball Barry Bonds hits for his record 756th home run will sell for a maximum of $500,000, about half what it would fetch without the steroids allegations surrounding the San Francisco Giants outfielder, according to sports memorabilia sellers. The 42-year-old Bonds already holds Major League Baseball's season record of 73 home runs and is three homers shy of breaking Hank Aaron's career mark of 755 that's stood since 1976. -- Bloomberg Bloomberg.com: North American |

in a sport that seems to distain the use of anything unnatural, it's surprising that Bonds has been allowed to reach this point .. and even more amazing that some people would pay that much for a ball hit by a player with those allegations hanging over his head. I hope MLB gets its act straightened up soon. I miss the joy of going to the park and only having to worry about what kind of "foreign substance" the pitcher put on the ball, not whether the player's bat is corked or the guy's using "unauthorized" drugs, or any of the other dozen or so things that has seemed to tarnish this grand sport. but I guess cheaters have been around since the beginning, only now they're more blatant.
