| Re: bonds' aunt lived in homeless shelter At this point writers are doing anything they can to make him look bad. I doubt that we got the entire story here. I am certainly no Bonds fan, but do any of really think he is that evil that he would leave his aunt in that situation? Something fishy here. |

| Re: bonds' aunt lived in homeless shelter I personally agree with Legend on this one. I am not a Bonds fan in the slightest. But since I dislike baseball, it is impossible for me to dislike Bonds because of all his closeted secrets. Do I think he took steroids? Yes. And for the most part, I don't care. It should just be acknowledged that it gives one a considerable advantage when juicing. These arguments that "you still have to make contact with the ball" are naive and are borderline unbearable. In regards to this report, occasionally, reporters tend to delve to deep for a "groundbreaking" story. And this report just seems so low brow and desperate that it is hard to believe. Especially when we are at the point that anyone can say anything about Bonds, regardless of how deplorable or inflammatory, and no one seems to mind. But since he is seemingly guilty of cheating in baseball, journalists assume the position of attacking his moral character in every other realm of his life. Which there is no basis for. |

| Re: bonds' aunt lived in homeless shelter This is just plain old...ammunition for his critics! When they have nothing else to harrass him about or fill up their daily column they tend to dig up stuff.. They are like the muckrackers of early history. |

I have dead beat relatives...If someone shoves a camera in their face and asks them why doesn't Gotham send you money...I would hope they know me well enough and esteem me enough to shove the camera back at them. It never the media's place to create the story...jsut report it...and really what is the story here, if not a Public Lynching of Barry Bonds? |

I think anyone who does a story like this, should have someone dig into his or her personal life and spill it to the rest of the world...Along the lines of: San Fransisco Chronicle (page 8 ) Headline: Reporter who stumbled onto Barry Bond's Aunt story Overcame Childhood Bead Wetting Issue. Yes, its true Mr. Mud R. Acker, the famed reporter who broke out the story of the poverty stricken aunt of Barry Bonds had to overcome a childhood bed wetting issue. His 3rd grade classmate, Christy Betters-Nyou told the Chronicle today, "Muddy always wanted to be a reporter, but he often felt embarrassed by the bed wetting issue he had throughout grade school. I am glad he overcame it finally...He did, right?" The distressed Mr. Acker could not be reached for comments. Heck, that should be fair play right? |
