Re: Barry Bonds home run watch

Barry Bonds hit #751 yesterday against Aaron Harang of the Cincinatti Reds.

"I'm playing pretty good for an old guy," the 42-year-old Bonds told reporters afterwards. "I just wish we were playing better as a team."

I've never wished a player to get hurt but I really wish that he wasn't able to break the record for some reason

Hank Aaron was around in the 70's. So were steroids. Any proof that he didn't use them?
There is no ball player like Bonds & there never will be & there never will be again. ESPN won't be the only ones who care, SF will start a riot.

Well, looks like those couple of days off helped him break out of his slump, at least to some degree.

2 in one game, yeah I'd say he is out of the slump. I'm not real crazy that he'll do it but it'll be big when it happens.

I can't wait until this happens. You don't get to see something like this and we could see it twice when A-Rod breaks it.

Yeah, it's funny. The record's stood for so long, and then it could be broken twice in a decade. Amazing just to think about.

If he breaks it before the trade deadline, how fast do you think they will run him out of town??

I did mean A-Rod not Bonds. No room for two DH's in Boston right now. I'll keep Ortiz anyway.

Re: Barry Bonds home run watch

According to the AP, "Bonds flied out to left field in his third plate appearance Thursday, remaining two home runs from tying Hank Aaron's record of 755... Bonds popped out to third base in the second inning and fouled out to the catcher in the fourth." So the milestone watch continues.

Re: Barry Bonds home run watch

I am one of the rare Barry Bonds fans. No one has proved he has used steroids. The media jumps to conclusions so quick, and when they are proven wrong, they shut up. The fans who let a third party dictate their opinions about Bonds, well I won't go into that. Until Bonds is proven to have used steroids, I will always support him 100% and defend him.
