Barry Zito reportedly changed his delivery over the winter, and he unveiled it for the Giants coaches today. It didn't go over so well. In fact, according to the article I read over at Comcast.net, "Pitching coach Dave Righetti went as far as to say the tweaks Zito made this winter.. could cause him to lose his dominant curveball and wear down his body."

So why change his mechanics at this point in his career, especially if it could have a negative effect?

I didn't know Barry went and changed his mechanics over the winter. really stupid on his part. Zito should listen to Righetti, he has been coaching for a long time and knows what he is doing.
