| Barry Bonds Reality Show Cheers. Can you believe this? A Barry Bonds reality show? How's that going to work, aside from excessive in house (and on website) promotion by espn? Who is going to watch a weekly show about a petulant, secretive, surly superstar that nobody likes? And why didn't the same genius behind this one use the same logic to come up with a similar "reality" series based on Kobe Bryant's rape trial? The format of the show could be interesting, too. Will other players address the camera to talk about Bonds? Will Barry be allowed to vote guys off his team? And what happens when the inevitable slump sets in? Will Bonds become the first celebrity to punch out his own cameraman? The title of the show is brilliant, too: Bonds on Bonds. No doubt Barry's agent is seeing what he can do about removing that "on" from the title. I can't wait for the post-retirement show focusing on his investment income: "Bonds on Bonds' Bonds." It boggles the mind...

| Hey...come on now...I have sat through worse...I mean there was last season's Amazing Race Family Edition which wasn't so amazing...and the Survivor that was won by the ex-porn actor turn use car salesman wasn't so great either...and don't get me started on Beauty and the Geek...or the Simple Life....or Basically, what I am trying to say is, "If they pitch it, they will come"...You tell me that the self absorbed Barry Bonds isn't as good TV as the "is it chicken or is it tuna" starlet that is Jessica Simpson....come on now...Barry can phone it in and be just as funny...In fact...I am starting a fan club here and now...come on boys ...lets give American Idol a run for the money...who is with me?...dare to be different boys...embrace the man-child that is Barry Bonds...tune in to this slice of Americana... |

| What is happening to the intellect of this country? Can anyone imagine Henry Aaron or Joe Dimaggio doing this? I wouldn't watch this if it were the last show on earth. I'd rather stare into an empty abyss for eternity. How do you like them there apples Gotham??? |

Aaron was too bland...classy...but bland....Mantle now...maybe Mickey would have pulled it off... ...and hey Pundit...it if rocks your house to stare at the Abyss in the "Holy Name of Purity in Sports"...who am I to discourage you?...Go on my good man...go stare at the Abyss for eternity...drop me a line and let me know how it works out for you... But if I was grading the reply, I would say "A" for level of energy..."C+ for originality and context"...but if you ever get done with the whole Abyss thing...you may certainly try again my good man... |

| Re: Barry Bonds Reality Show I am all for it. Barry has been loyal to the Giants throughout all his career. He has played hurt. He has put the interests of his team first. He is an amazing hitter with a great eye. He makes his fellow team mates better. He might not cover as much ground in left as he did five years ago but still has a rocket for an arm. But because the media doesn't like him he doesn't deserve the credit. PLEEEEZE! Barry Bonds not only deserves his own show he deserves his own country. Barry Bonds for president. I say give him his own show and whatever the heck else he wants. |

| Nobody's knocking how great a player Bonds is. Even before he started taking steroids - he was a Hall of Famer. But the fact that the guy acts like a total idiot all the time is not the media's fault. It's his own fault. Maybe with all the money he's made, he can spend some of it on serious psycoanalysis. At minimum, an anger management course. Regarding his reality show, it looks so idiotic. The only reality show I've watched is "Knight School" because it actually has some basis in "reality." If Bobby Knight dressed up like Pat Summitt, I wouldn't watch that either. |

(edited PS)...maybe the media out to give him a cut for all the headlines his provided for them at the expense of his rather blunt, if somewhat twisted, opinions... Last edited by Gotham Dark Knight : 03-04-2006 at 03:41 PM. |

| Gotham - It looks like I struck some kind of nerve with my abyss post. P.S. I absolutely would tell you if I watched. Bust just to make sure I don't, I'm going to program block the channel if I'm watching TV when it's on. And if this were really a "reality show", we'd see the guy shooting up, wouldn't we? Now that's reality. |

Hey man, "The Abyss" was a great line...I mean come on now...not just an Abyss...but an Abyss for all eternity...that's like forever...I mean that is classic...I loved it... And what reality show is really real?...We see what they want us to see by way of editing...but its no worse than anything else...Bonds...Terrell Owens...that skater from Texas Hendrich...all good stuff man...you can't make up such drama... But hey, if you take a peak, you let us know you hear??? Last edited by Gotham Dark Knight : 03-04-2006 at 06:57 PM. |

| Idea! Why don't they throw all those bad guys like TO, BB, the skaters, and Knight together in one situation and call it something like "Bad Behavior" and see what happens...or! if that gets old, they could add one of those saintly players we all love, change the name to "Pervert or Convert," and see how long it takes to pervert (him) or convert (them). We should pitch it to the networks! We could make millions for the forum! Ahem. I will be taking my medication now. |
