| Bonds to file for free agency The Associated Press is reporting that Barry Bonds will file for free agency as soon as the World Series ends, and that no negotiations are ongoing between the slugger and the San Francisco Giants. One can only assume that Bonds will be going elsewhere, most likely an AL team to DH. So where do you guys think Bonds will be playing next year?

| Re: Bonds to file for free agency I just saw this story courtesy of the AP and couldn't help but agree about Bonds going to the AL. I doubt any NL team would want to spend the money to have him play 60 games in the field. With the AL, he can play some in left and most as the DH. I'd say possible candidates include Oakland, Anaheim and well, that's I can think of right now. |

| Re: Bonds to file for free agency I believe Frank Thomas jumped onto the free-agency market, as well. Personally, I would rather have Frank Thomas at his age because he is younger and will probably play in more games. Even though both of them are considered loudmouths and are said to destroy team chemistry, I feel that Barry Bonds is a magnet for public attention and will expose corruption in an organization. But, what is better than filling seats when he bolts #756? |

| Re: Bonds to file for free agency I assume that Bonds will end up in the American League next year, just so he can become a designated hitter. No way a contending team will take him though- not only is he too expensive, but his power is slipping away and his health has been in question for years now. He'll probably end up with Cleveland, Texas, or Baltimore ( home of many other steroid users). |
