Any idea who the new San Francisco Giants skipper might be? The only candidate I had been hearing anything about is Dusty Baker -- that is, until I read this in the San Francisco Chronicle: "Los Angeles Angels pitching coach Bud Black interviewed for the Giants' managerial opening in Arizona on Wednesday, major-league sources said, becoming the third confirmed candidate to discuss the job formally with general manager Brian Sabean."

So we've got Baker and Black as possibilities. Who else?

Speaking of the '02 Series, what about Tim Salmon for the job? Fifteen year veteran... he's been more of a coach then a player with the Angels over the last few years anyway.

The SF Chronicle says Bruce Bochy will consider the Giants job. The Padres have already given them permission to interview him.

I don't think a change in the managerial staff would make a difference. They need some serious roster changes to contend for the NL West Title. But as a Dodgers fan, they can just keep their organization as it is now.
