| Re: Niners Say No To Vick Before I read this thread, I would have said Singletary was too smart to even give Vick a thought. It appears I was wrong although the right decision was made in end imho. Jim Fassel says he would take Vick in the UFL. I say thats a good place to start for Mr. Vick.

| Re: Niners Say No To Vick I guess I don't follow the logic here. He served his sentence. If he can pass training then what is the big deal ??? Mind you now I dislike him for his actions as much as the next one, but he has paid for his crime. I suppose there is also the negative press that any future team will have to deal with. That will certainly take a lot of team focus away and that isn't good. |

And he has been out of football for a while. The UFL will give him a chance to get the rust off and show what he can or cant do. If he comes back to the NFL, people will have expectations like with Pacman. And when Vick doesnt meet those expectations, you have more distractions. |

On the other hand, maybe taking a risk like Michael Vick could win some games, make the play-offs, or maybe, even at the least sell some tickets. Two ways to look at it. Still a risky decision that goes beyond whether he can still throw a football. |

| Re: Niners Say No To Vick I dont know Cougar. If he could still throw a football, I believe a lot of the things he has done would be overlooked and the Peta people would get drowned out by the sound of money talking. |

| Re: Niners Say No To Vick So you offer up yourself and give the guy a one year contract. I'm sure he'd be willing, at some point, to sign off on issues such as the animal rights groups destroying attendance and anything else along those lines. You also need to consider that even negative publicity can often times create sales. Honestly if you were a Niner's fan would you let one player stifle your love of the team ? It is pretty difficult today to approve of every player on any team. Now what will you do if your team hires Vick and he produces ??? What if he takes you right into the big game ? If none of that happens your team releases him after a year and it is no big deal. Everyone had a shot at being better. Being somewhat of an animal lover I really despise what he did and believe he needed to pay for his crime. Did he get what I believe was a suitable sentence ??? NO WAY, but within the judicial system he got what was called for. He, in theory, has paid his debt to the system and will forever be remembered for it, instead of anything good he might do in a football. uniform |

| Re: Niners Say No To Vick If Michael Vick can come into the league and ball it up, people will begin to care less and less about his jail time. If he wins games, i definitely wont be mad at him. He already served his time and I dont think Vick is as stupid as Pacman to mess up even his second chances
