Niners like defensive headsets

Safety Mark Roman is getting adjusted to hearing that little voice inside his helmet telling him where to go and what to do. Teams across the country are implementing the league's newest technological step forward.
Roman said he didnt even know the rule had passed until they handed out the helmets. He likes it because they wont be scrambling for calls.
The Niners are experimenting right now, and handing out the helmets for everyone to get used to it.

I believe this is a good thing.
I also found it peculiar that everyone on this board knew the rule was passed but not a player.

I wonder how game tested they are. Will they be able to hear over crowd noise. Will it still work after a good hit?

I'm sure they're the same ones the QBs have, so to some degree, they've taken some hits. But I see your point... it's a whole lotta difference between a QB getting sacked and a safety launching into a running back or tight end. I can imagine there will be some issues with the durability of the thing.
