The Niners had some real problems on the offensive line last season, but it looks like it could be one of their strengths this season, at least if this story is to be believed. Jonas Jennings is healthy and pair with newly signed Larry Allen on the left side. Eric Heitmann will probably take over for the oft-injured Tom Newberry as the center, and 2005 draftees David Baas and Adam Snyder will likely handle the right side.

Inexperience at the RG and RT positions is somewhat worrysome, but it does look like a talented group on paper, does it not?

The above story is more or less a profile of 49ers LT Jonas Jennings, particularly how he's trying to shed the underachiever label. But this is what struck me.

The addition of Larry Allen should help Jennings in the leadership department and give San Francisco a formidable duo on the left side. It is probably too much to hope for, but one can envision this left side having the same kind of success that the Seattle Seahawks experienced with Walter Jones and Steve Hutchinson last season.

Them's pretty bold words, there. Any chance the combo of the underachieving Jennings and the aging Allen can be even a poor man's Jones and Hutchinson?
