So the scintilating battle to be the San Francisco 49ers third-string quarterback comes down to Jesse Palmer and Cody Pickett. Pickett only completed 40% of his passes last season, threw 0 TDs and 2 INTs, and then refused to go to NFL Europe. Palmer is around a 50% career passer who also has thrown more picks than scores, hasn't taken a snap since 2003, and is best known for his stint on The Bachelor.

Yeesh... if I'm a Niners fan, I'm sure praying that Smith and Dilfer don't both get hurt in 2006!

yeah well, after what I saw from him on the Bachelor, I wouldn't let him run an offense....his wideouts made fun of the way he called a game on that show.
