Kicker-punter Schmidt signs with 49ers

Former Shepherd University kicker-punter Ricky Schmidt signed a two year contract with the 49ers on Friday, but it wasnt for the position he expected. He is to compete with vetran Joe Nedney for the kicking job.
He was originally signed as un underafted rookie free agent with the Cardinals last year to compete for the punting job. He was in the final roster cuts.

Did you see Nedneys fake punt pass. That was my favorite play in the pro bowl.
