Dilfer out vs. Bengals

49ers QB Trent Dilfer will miss Saturday's game vs. Cincinnati with a concussion.

Six year veteran Shaun Hill will make his first career start in his stead. Hill has never thrown a pass in the NFL.

Cool Re: Dilfer out vs. Bengals

Tell me this isn't the kind of game the Bengals will lose.

If they do, I guarantee you - that's the end for Marvin Lewis.

I get so few predictions right - but I was right on the mark. Is Marvin Lewis gone?

Now they are talking about a quarterback controversy in San Fran. The guy had two good games.

Re: Dilfer out vs. Bengals

When a team is losing, there will always be a QB controversy. Every time Smith has a bad game his haters will argue that he shouldn't get playing time until his backup has a bad game.

Re: Dilfer out vs. Bengals

Losing creates controversy. Winning creates even more controversy when the guy who leads you to a win is a total nobody! Everyone loves the underdog - just look at Tony Romo three years ago - he was on the practice squad in Dallas and was almost lost until Parcells got smart and kept him. Now he's a media darling and a winner. I'm not saying Sean Hill is the answer but from what I saw, this guy can play. Is he another Tony Romo? Who knows? Maybe the clock will strike midnight and he'll be changed back into a mere mortal, but so far he's looking good!

Plus, as a diehard Niners fan, I don't want my team to be picking high in the draft! Why? Obviously - New England owns that PICK!!!

Cool Re: Dilfer out vs. Bengals

It's time for Dilfer to hang it up. He's going to be a really good broadcaster, anyway. I don't know why he keeps hanging on?
