I find this a rather odd deal...Isn't Dorsey better suited for the 49ers West Coast offense and Dilfer is a bit of a bomber?...What gives here?...Did I miss something? Dilfer is a better QB than his rep shows...Dorsey is a winner with a weak arm...I like them both...

From San Fran's standpoint, they wanted a veteran QB to back up and instruct Alex Smith, so in that case Dilfer's a good fit. From the Browns point of view, they dump a disgruntled veteran (he apparently wanted to be traded) and cut some salary, while picking up a potentially good QB in Dorsey and I believe an extra draft pick or two.

I don't think this trade will warrant much debate. Didn't Cleveland draft a future potential QB last year? I can't remember his name but I believe it was in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Cleveland's QB was Charlie Frye. He played well at the end of the year for them. I don't know why Cleveland would trade for Dorsey. Maybe Crenell didn't want any type of QB controversy. As soon as Dilfer retires, he's goanna make a great broadcaster. I've heard him on the radio and he's really good.
