SAN FRANCISCO The San Francisco 49ers are taking the first step in what could be a lawsuit over the condition of Monster Park.
In a legal claim filed yesterday, the 49ers are accusing the city of failing to maintain the stadium according to the terms of their lease.
The team says the poor condition of the 47-year-old stadium is hurting its revenues.
The claim could be a precursor to a possible lawsuit.
A spokeswoman in the city attorney's office says the claim is being reviewed.
