49ers vs Seahawks

The 49ers are currently in second place in the NFC West and have won two in a row. Now they have a shot to knock off the division leading, and defending NFC Champion, Seattle Seahawks. It will be no easy task, to say the least, and could be close to impossible depending on the status of Matt Hasselbeck and Shaun Alexander. What do you think about this match-up?

Cool Re: 49ers vs Seahawks

David R, Moody of SF Gate Niners Turn Blog is ever so hopeful:

What a difference two weeks makes. That 41-0 Bear mauling is almost forgotten...... The 49ers play better at home, they've got some momentum going, the defense seems to have found its rhythm--in short, who knows what might happen?

Personally I think this will be a high scoring game. If Hasseblach doesn't play, I think the Niners might win.

Post 49ers vs Seahawks - preview

Here's another preview of the upcoming 49ers - Seahawks game

Quote:
Up Next for Seahawks: San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have not won three consecutive games since 2002. They have not beaten a team with a winning record this season, and have been outscored 130-29 in losing to the Chiefs, Bears and Chargers. Talk about a statement game for a franchise that has not been .500 or better this late in the season since 2002.
What's the status of Frank Gore? I heard he had a concussion an may not play Sunday. Can San Fran win without him?

Re: 49ers vs Seahawks

Boy did he ever play. 200+ yards rushing in a HUGE San Fran win. I think Gore might be the real deal, guys.

Re: 49ers vs Seahawks

Frank Gore set a franchise rushing record on Sunday by gaining 212 yards on 24 attempts. He now has over 1,000 yards on the season. overall, the Niners looked pretty good during this game. They are now 5-5, in second place, one game back. With six games left to go, the Niners have now surpassed their win total from last year. Three of their last six games are against the NFC West, and games against Green Bay, New Orleans, and Denver. Can Frank Gore keep up a pace of rushing close to 200 yards/game? With six games left, that would give him 2200+ yards for the season. I do think Frank has a shot for the Pro Bowl. Any thoughts on this?

Re: 49ers vs Seahawks

Yeah, I definitely think Gore has a shot at the Pro Bowl. He's been an amazing surprise, at least to me. I had no idea he was capable of this. Sure makes the Barlow trade look like sheer genius at this point. What's the Niners single-season rushing record, and does he have a shot at it?

Re: 49ers vs Seahawks

The rushing record for a single season for niners is 1570 yards i believe by Garrison Hearst in 98. So Gore needs to average about 85-90 yards a game the rest of the way to match that. But, either way i think he has a legitimate shot. I remember watching him at Miami back in hs early years there. And let me tell you Frank Gore is the real deal. When i saw the niners draft him i was soo stoked. But just watch Frank Gore, in a few years and maybe starting now he is gonna be up there in company with the LT's, Edgerrrin James, Larry Johnson's, and Clinton Portis's. Just watch.....
