Vikings vs. 49ers

One thing's for sure: both the 49ers and the Vikings hope they play better this weekend then they did last weekend. San Francisco was absolutely rocked by the Bears, and in Monday Night's game, Minnesota was embarrassed by the Patriots. So which of these Week 8 sad sacks will rebound in Week 9? I'll give the edge to the Vikings, in a close one, 17-14.

Re: Vikings vs. 49ers

I really don't see it being close. Brady is the only QB to have picked apart Mn's D like that. No1 has had a 100 yrd rusher yet this year. the the O is starting to come together in a whay that is making viking fans hopeful to be in the wild card while the bears push for the nfc.

Look at how each team handled the bears. we shoulda won that game, but their D is a big credit. Just as Mn's D is gonna show SF that it's not a walk in the park to play the black and blue div.

I think Brad Chill. will put some more deep shots in, and probably go with a TE/RB in lots of short passes to get SF to weaken up in the zone.

If he can do this. watch for a big scoring day, with the D maybe getting one TD.

Welcome to GoTeamsGo, DiGiTaL, and thanks for joining us!

You could well be right. Minnesota definitely has the talent to win this one convincingly. I'm very high on Chester Taylor, glad to see him finally getting a chance to shine after spending his first several seasons in Jamal Lewis' shadow. I'm a little concerned about Brad Johnson rebounding from his poor performance Monday night, but I guess he is a veteran.

No 100-yard rushers yet this season, eh? Impressive. That streak shouldn't be in any danger here.

Re: Vikings vs. 49ers

Boy, were you both wrong, final score was 9-3 in a kickers battle. The Vikings shot themselves in the "foot" with three turnovers and major penalties when things really mattered. The one penalty that stands out in my mind is the block -in-the-back call during the TD run that got called back. After that, Minnesota never got close to the end zone. Credit the 49ers D by coming up big when they had to. I was going to write this game off. I guess your team can't be doing too bad when they have a better record than the defending Super Bowl champs, or should we call the Steelers chumps?
