49ers vs Bears

The San Francisco 49ers travel to Chicago to face the undefeated Bears this week. Ordinarily, the 6-0 Chicago team would be big favorites. Heck, they probably will be. But Da Bears didn't look like the best team in the NFL in their last game against the Cardinals. Was that MNF game a fluke, or do the Niners have a shot of pulling off the upset at Soldier Field?

Cool Re: 49ers vs Bears

They're 16 point favorites. The Bears win it 38-21 and cover the spread.

you are being too generous 38-10 at best...these guys are not going to let Alex Smith be another Leinart.

Well, I doubt anyone thinks San Fran will win. Who here thinks they can cover? Me, well, I say no.

Ditto...the Bear D just gave up +20 to the Cardinals...they will not let the 49ers cover...pride will get in the way...

Re: 49ers vs Bears

I don't know, did the Bears cover with a 41-10 win? Just one question, did the Bears offense take the rest of the day off? Just wondering, because the Bears went into halftime with a 41-0 lead. Can anyone tell me why?

Re: 49ers vs Bears

Well, Chicago got the ball back with 10:28 in the third quarter. Here's what they did with it.

Quote:
1st-10, CHI10 10:28 T. Jones rushed to the right for 8 yard gain
2nd-2, CHI19 9:52 T. Jones rushed to the right for 8 yard gain
1st-10, CHI27 9:15 CHI committed 10 yard penalty
1st-20, CHI17 9:10 T. Jones rushed to the right for 5 yard gain
2nd-15, CHI22 8:35 R. Grossman passed to T. Jones to the right for 4 yard gain
3rd-11, CHI26 7:56 R. Grossman passed to D. Clark to the right for 17 yard gain
1st-10, CHI43 7:11 T. Jones rushed to the right for 2 yard gain
2nd-8, CHI45 6:26 R. Grossman passed to T. Jones to the left for 6 yard gain
3rd-2, SF49 5:41 R. Grossman passed to J. McKie to the left for 8 yard gain
1st-10, SF41 5:10 T. Jones rushed to the right for no gain
2nd-10, SF41 4:37 R. Grossman passed to B. Berrian to the left for 15 yard gain
1st-10, SF26 3:58 T. Jones rushed to the left for 4 yard gain
2nd-6, SF22 3:16 SF committed 3 yard penalty
1st-10, SF19 3:12 T. Jones rushed to the left for 12 yard gain
1st-7, SF7 2:28 T. Jones rushed to the left for 5 yard gain
2nd-2, SF2 1:44 R. Grossman fumbled. R. Grossman recovered fumble
2nd-2, SF2 1:44 R. Grossman incomplete pass down the middle
3rd-2, SF2 1:38 R. Grossman incomplete pass to the right
4th-2, SF2 1:28 T. Jones rushed to the left for 1 yard gain
At the change of possession, San Francisco took over with 1:28 left in the period. That's an 88-yard drive that took up nine whole minutes. After that, Brian Griese and I'd assume the rest of the Bears second-string offense came in to play the fourth quarter. Looks almost like Chicago was just toying with them.
