Has anyone read or heard anything about Michael Crabtree lately? Is he close to signing a contract or is he really going to sit out the year? I haven't been able to find any info about him.

The last I heard he was still holding out and it looked like he was going to stay out.

Dumb move in my opinion but if that is what he thinks will get him the almighty motivating dollar. I don't see how sitting out the year will improve his marketability but then again I am not a talented football player. I just know in my world somebody else is capable of doing my job and refusing to work results in being fired not getting a raise. He was drafted where he was. He needs to get over it take the money the 49ers are willing to give him and prove on the field he is worth more.

I hear he might sign by Sept. 10, it was a rumor from another forum and I think San Jose Mercury News was mentioned.

There must be someone telling him what to do. The money the 49ers are offering is obviously enough to live beyond a life of comfort and in my opinion, money that is beyond what he is worth. Like I said, someone is telling him to sit out, I don't know who it is, but that must be it. Sitting a season out will most likely drop his pay. Not to mention what team will want to draft him again after this whole event? Whats worse for an NFL team than not getting to sign your first round pick?
